Does penis size matter?
My name is Dr. Justin Lehmiller, and I'm a social psychologist and sexuality researcher.
I'm here to answer questions submitted by the plusOne community.
Today's question is, does penis size matter?
I get this question all of the time, and the short answer, pun intended, is that for most people, it doesn't really matter unless you let it matter.
What the research tells us is that most penises fall within the average range. Most people express a preference for average size penises when it comes to stimulation, and most people are content with their partner size.
So despite all you've heard about how size matters, the truth is that size usually has relatively little bearing on how much pleasure you can give and how much pleasure you can get.
That said, size can potentially become an issue if you fall at one of the extreme ends of the spectrum. So some people do find that a size that's much larger than average or much smaller than average, is less satisfying to them.
In cases where size does matter and the partners wanna make something work, the solution usually resides in a willingness to be creative, such as trying new positions, new activities, or maybe even bringing in some toys so that everyone gets the stimulation that they want.
