Who Would See a Sex Therapist?
Hi there. I'm Dr. Taylor Nolan. I'm a licensed psychotherapist and a certified sexologist, and I'm here today to answer questions submitted by the plusOne community.
Today's question is, who would see a sex therapist and why?
It's a great question. Anybody. It could be anybody.
Okay, because people come to sex therapy for all kinds of different reasons. It could be that they're unhappy with their sex life. It could be that they're really happy with their sex life and they wanna better understand, or they wanna explore new things, right? It could be that they're experiencing some pain and some difficulty.
Sex therapy is very similar to regular mental health treatment, except you're working with someone who is specialized in sexual dysfunctions and clinical sexology, right?
So, there's a lot of, uh, sex education involved in sex therapy, which is one of my favorite parts. But really, you could be single, you could be partnered, you could be older, you could be younger. Anybody can come to sex therapy.
I hope this was helpful. Be sure to stay tuned for work.
