I'm here to answer questions submitted by the plusOne community, including the question of what is the cause of a drop in sex drive as we age?
As we age, the most common reason we have a decline in our sex drive or libido is because of decreasing hormone levels.
With the decline in estrogen, the vagina decreases its lubrication, resulting in painful sex, and if you have pain with sex, how could you possibly have a good sex drive?
In addition, our testosterone level decreases, and although testosterone is mainly a male hormone, it contributes to our libido and our overall energy level.
Also, as we age, we get other medical conditions, so if you overall don't feel well or are tired, it's hard to get motivated to have sex.
All these things are common as we age, but doesn't mean they can't be treated.
